Projects

Over 20 years The Event Makers worked on a wide range of projects and events with organisations from the BBC and BT to CAFOD and Islamic Relief.

We created large and unusual street events and venue-based activities, campaigns, major conferences, product launches and arts and cultural events including the East Midlands Parade of Dames, assisted Nottingham Hill Carnival and the activities of local interest groups.

We originated profile-raisers that have become annual national events, such as Gingerbread Red Letter Day! and produced the multi-site Great British Treasure Hunt.

Against the odds The Event Makers successfully realised the event that 'put the issue of world debt relief firmly on the political agenda', the Jubilee 2000 Human Chain at the Birmingham G8 Summit. While in response to the devastation of the Indian Ocean tsunami the company instigated the practical Asia Bus Response campaign.

The Event Makers worked on projects involving consultancy, troubleshooting, mentoring, event choreography and marketing activity to the strategic development and total project management of campaigns and events.

We were asked to get involved in order to realise a big idea, when an event was under threat, where risks were high, in-house resources were lacking or when a crisis had occurred and money or reputation were at stake.

We negotiated with authorities and suppliers, arranged travel for thousands, provided security services, ran radio stations, created branding and promotional materials, ensured media coverage, developed value for sponsors, trained the event managers of the future and always delivered projects beyond expectation.

Over the years The Event Makers' clients have included major broadcasters and blue chip companies, tourism and trade associations, health and education bodies, government departments, SMEs and the third sector. Our activities began with brand development, hospitality and corporate events and grew to encompass promotional events for television, high profile awards ceremonies and unusual, issue-led, charitable initiatives with global reach and appeal.
